"Whispers - A Julian Lennon Retrospective“ in Venice
From August 28 to November 24, Venice's prestigious Museum Le Stanze della Fotografia will present the exhibition "Whispers - A Julian Lennon Retrospective". The show, curated by Julian Lennon and Sandrina Bonetti Rubelli, presents an impressive collection of more than two decades of artistic work by the artist and human rights activist.
With Whispers, Lennon takes visitors on a visual journey that reflects his deep connection to nature, humanity, and environmentalism. The works bridge Lennon's early days as a musician and his career as a photographer, providing a deep insight into his development as an artist. Characterized by emotional depth and personal devotion, his photographs are informed by his philanthropic work, particularly through his charitable organization, The White Feather Foundation.
Insights from “Life's Fragile Moments”
This deep commitment to nature, humanity and the environment is reflected in Lennon's new coffee table book, “Life's Fragile Moments”. The stunning coffee table book celebrates his career as a photographer and reflects the complexity of his creative journey. Powerful landscapes, urban scenes, and intimate portraits combine to create a visual narrative that captures the beauty and fragility of our planet.
The emotional portraits Lennon shares in “Life's Fragile Moments” are particularly powerful. They offer a personal glimpse into his worldview and reveal his artistic signature. The book also documents Lennon's ability to portray social and environmental issues in subtle but powerful ways. His images tell stories that reveal his deep connection to nature and his passion for protecting the environment.

A highlight in Venice's rich cultural landscape
The opening of the exhibition on August 26, 2024, prior to its public run, fits seamlessly into Venice's rich cultural landscape, which is dominated by the prestigious Art Biennale and Film Festival in the fall. For Lennon, it is a special honor to present his work in a city of such cultural and historical significance. "This retrospective is more than photography. It is a reminder of how privileged we are to preserve and cherish life on this planet," Lennon said.
Sandrina Bonetti Rubelli, co-curator of the exhibition, emphasized the special connection between the exhibition and Venice: "In a city that is both fragile and multifaceted, art, history and challenges come together in an intense cultural dialogue. Lennon's works reflect this complexity and offer a deep insight into the artist's inner life.
