Michael Harker was born in Munich in 1951, studied in Vienna and has returned to photography in 2007.

He photographs people, cities and landscapes with the romantic eye of a street photographer. With his camera, Michael Harker captures moments from unexpected perspectives, showing the beauty of often unexpected places in their graphic resolution. His work captures the magic and emotion of the moment. His intense interest in street art developed over the course of Streetlife projects, initially as a by-product. One of the first projects to be extensively documented was 5 Pointz, the legendary warehouse in New York's Brooklyn neighbourhood.

It was only over time that it became an important topic and an intensive examination of the art form took place. This was reflected in the book "Icons of Street Art - Big Murals" in 2019.

Michael Harker is based in Munich and Lisbon.
